Note: I get requests for this salad often. It's the dressing that makes it so tasty. We enjoy serving it when grilling out in the summer time.
Ingredients:
8 C torn, fresh spinach (I substitute romaine or baby spinach leaves sometimes.)
2 C sliced, fresh strawberries
2 T finely chopped red onion
1 T sunflower kernels
1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
2 T canola or olive oil
2 T red wine vinegar
4-1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp ground mustard
Directions:
In a salad bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries, onion, sunflower kernels, and sesame seeds. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the remaining ingredients; shake well. Pour over the salad and gently toss to coat. Serve immediately.
